The dachshund who used to be a Saint Bernard; Mr Cohen who used to be German, then French, now American, erasing one layer of his displaced past after the next. This is a clever cartoon that calls on the now iconic Venturian sitting duck, and the critique of the overworked modernist monument. It is also telling with respect to the role of architecture, which works in such a way that, for example, a stadium is at one moment a place in which football is played, and then is certain extreme circumstances a prison in which alien residents are contained. I’m looking forward to what Andrej has to say about his confused duck!
